Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of astronaut (“astronaut”, “we”, “us”), an analytics, source-attribution, and engagement platform for iOS apps. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

astronaut lets you track where your app’s users come from, watch activity live, follow user journeys, attribute revenue to channels, and send push notifications. You integrate it with an iOS SDK and an optional web snippet that carry your public tracking ID.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in secure.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.

3. Free trial and billing

  • Free trial. Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. No payment is taken during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends.
  • Plans. Plans are tiered by the number of ingested events per month, at the prices shown on our pricing page. If you exceed your tier, you may be asked to upgrade.
  • Payments. Billing is handled by our payment processor, Polar. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until canceled.
  • Cancellation. You can manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for unlawful purposes or to violate anyone’s rights.
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or abuse the service or its APIs, or circumvent event limits.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other tenants’ data.
  • Upload credentials or content you are not authorized to use.

5. Your responsibilities

Because you decide what to collect through the SDK and snippet, you are the controller of your end-users’ data. You agree that you will:

  • Maintain a lawful basis for the data you collect and provide your own privacy notice to, and obtain any required consent from, your end-users.
  • Comply with applicable laws (including GDPR and CCPA where relevant) and the Apple App Store and APNs guidelines.
  • Be responsible for the APNs credentials you upload and for the content of any notifications you send.
  • Not use the service to collect sensitive categories of personal data beyond what the SDK is designed to capture.

6. Data ownership

You own the data you collect through the service. You grant us the limited license needed to host and process that data to provide the service to you. We own astronaut, including the platform, software, and trademarks; nothing here transfers our intellectual property to you.

7. Availability

We work to keep the service reliable but provide it “as is” and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify or discontinue features over time.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends and your data may be deleted after a reasonable retention window.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date, and your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
